San Ramon Square dancing Exhibition
May 7th through 9th 2010
Hey, how’s this for a combination, square dancing and racing cars, that’s right. On May 7th through 9th Scott Erwin, who is a BCRA Official and General Chairman of Golden State Square Dancing Association, held a round up in San Ramon.
What a great deal it was, people really got with the program. They had a ball spinning almost as fast as the midgets go around, men women and kids of all ages really had a good time.
Scotts, theme was “Racing To Round UP”, there were 5 midgets on display, 2 vintages, 2 competitive midgets and 1 midget lite. People really had a ball looking at the cars, taking pictures, standing beside and sitting in them. Lots of folks never saw a racecar that close before.
Saturday, Paul, Mike Donaldson and I set up a table to sell t-shirts, calendars, hand out schedules cards, and answer questions about the cars. The square dancers were very respectful of the cars and really enjoyed them. It was a fun day watching the dances and just hanging out.
Sunday things got a little wet as it rained, so Scott kept the cars inside and the dancers just dance around them. Because of the rain we pick our car up early and Scott said, “ No problem”. All and all it was a fun weekend and Scott really knows how to throw a real “Hoe Down”. He also said, “A big thanks to all that help him out.”
Midgets on display:
Stu Donaldson #5
Scott Erwin #8
David Prickett #15
Paul Ferreira #36
Stu Donaldson #60
Our next pit stop for vintage guys is May 28, 29 & 30th at Shasta.
