Vintage Views January 2010
By June Wheeler-Ferreira
Hi, gang, we are off again for the year of 2010. Things started off with the 3rd Annual Swap Meet, at the 1/4 midget track, in Livermore, this event is put on by BCRA. For all that miss it, you miss a fun day. We were a little short on sellers, but it worked out OK, as the weather was a little boarder-line. Lots of racers thought it would rain and didn’t make it. It was a nice day, sunny and dry, this is a good event, so keep it going and growing every year.
Then it was the 2009 Awards Banquet, Saturday night, January the 3oth. What a fun night that was, a great chance to get together with racing friends and watch everyone get their awards. The crowd was good size, but the event was not overly crowded. There were a good number of vintage people there to receive their plaques and of course regular racers were on hand to get their awards. Thanks to Linda Manning and the board for putting this all together, GOOD JOB BCRA.
The next event is the Nor-Cal Racing Expo/Vallejo Speedway 2 Reunion, on Saturday 27th, at the Solano County Fairgrounds, Vallejo, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are trying to get a good vintage car count together to support this event. It’s open to all, race, cars, so, please, try to make it if you can. The vintage schedule is out with 4 events so far. Look on the BCRA website, it’s on the vintage website.
Reminder the 2010 vintage dues are due. Don’t forget you can’t drive in BCRA vintage events, unless if your dues are paid.
