BCRA Midgets

On the second of a two night BCRA West Coast Midget Extravaganza, 26 Midgets took to the red clay of the famed Placerville Speedway!

For a second night in a row, a “B” Main Event was required to set the 20 car BCRA Midget Main Event. Visalia’s Greg Bragg claimed the winners laurels to conclude an accident marred feature that was finally ended with a Red/Checkers on the 27th lap after Washington’s Evan Margeson attempted to squeeze between another car and the front straightaway wall and contacted both sending his midget flipping high in the air knocking out the start/finish line light with the Margeson #50 ending up in turn #1 on top of Bill Lindsey’s #8x. At the end, it was Jake Swanson finishing 2nd, followed by Matt Streeter in 3rd place.

BCRA Vintage Views February 2010

By June Wheeler-Ferreira
On Saturday February 27th, Norcal Racing Expo 2/Reunion was held at the Solano County Fairgrounds in Vallejo.

Hosted by Steve and Bobbie Hazelton, there were many things to see, racing boats, ¼ midgets, old hardtops, dwarf cars, drift cars, go-karts, sprint cars and midgets from BCRA, modern and vintage.

There were lots of vendors on hand and displays. There were model miniature motors that ran. There were racing books for sale and videos to view.

The crowd was good considering the weather was a little rainy in the morning. People seemed to enjoy looking at all the cars. They were able to sit in some of them and take pictures and talk with the owner’s. There was lots of PR going on, schedules being handed out for the 2010 season, and some autographs signed.

Steve and his wife Bobbie and their group really went all out to make sure things went really well. It was a whole lot of work for them, but itreally paid off, everyone had a fun day and went home happy.

Members of BCRA, who participated in this event were:
Linda Manning
Frank Goularte #00
Frank & Jayne Fuentes #2
Rick Holbrook #6
Stu Donaldson #8 & #8
Harold Dickerson #11
John Kunstal #20
Paul Ferreira #36
Good job, Steve, hope we can do it again next year, June
