Vintage Views
BCRA vintage members met on February 9th for our annual BCRA vintage meeting
at Ron Dunn's Auto Museum and Plumbing shop. The meeting was attended by 20
plus vintage members and one special guest Dave Stewart editor of Vintage
Oval Racing magazine.
The purpose of this annual meeting is to cover several topics from new
vintage rules, on track procedures, introduce new vintage members, discuss
the new schedule of exhibition dates for the current year. The first
scheduled event for BCRA Vintage is March 28th & 29th at Shasta Speedway.
The Friday date is a play day and there will be a $25.00 pit fee for the
vintage members.
This year BCRA Vintage has several combo dates with Western Racing
Association of southern California. We also have two All Vintage two or
three dates on the 2008 schedule. One is The All American Vintage Classic in
Roseville at the All American Speedway scheduled for mid September. The
second date is on August 29 & 30 at Shasta Speedway in Redding, California
and is the California National Vintage Classic. Both of these dates will
draw about 100 to 120 vintage cars. Midgets,Sprints,Roadsters,Hardtops,Super
Modified's. This event at Roseville will be the third annual West Capitol
Racing Alumni.
This is my first article for the new production of the BCRA news letter. Any
vintage member that has a topic to discuss please email or call me and i
will add it to my article. If any member does not receive their news letter
please call or email me and i will see that you get your copy.
We have a good schedule for 2008 and the more vintage members that make the
dates the more fun we all will have. BCRA Vintage is going to try something
different for the 2008 season. On the BCRA web site there is a pre
registration form. It is designed for the midget and midget-lites to use.
Please use this form to pre register for all vintage events. Please fill in
the info, your car # with a V after it along with your name. Example; Pete
Bray #47 V. Linda will compile this list and forward it to me to have for
the pit gate list at each event. For those that do not have a computer
please call me five days in advance so I can add you to the list
