Check out the new Vintage pictures on the BCRA web site. All are from Lakeport on June 5th. All were taken by our fantastic shudder bug guys, the famous Sublett boys. If you want some great shots of your car on the track call Mark or Matt and they will have plenty. Rusty Browning and I have talking about the 2005 Vintage calendar and she will probably use those on the web with the permission from the Subletts.

Tommy Belifore and Stu have been revising the Vintage rulebook. This is the first real revision since their inception in 1987. They have been working hand in hand with several BCRA board members. When the board approves them they will be posted on the BCRA web site under the heading Vintage Division . Everyone that has a computer should be sure to down load a copy. For those that are not in the computer world I will print a copy and mail them to you. Tommy and Stu and Ralph Cortez and Joe Lindsay have done an outstanding job with some new rules and bringing the old rules up to date.

Sadly BCRA Vintage has lost two more members this past few weeks. Doyle Smart from Carson City, Nevada passed on July 6th, 2004. Doyle made it up to see a few of us last May when we visited Charle Branendburg s track on May 13th for a play day. Don Scott brought Doyle out to see us and to say hello. For those who would like to send a card to his wife the address is Mrs. Doyle Smart, P.O. Box 2800, Carson City, Nevada 89702.

George Bud Bray passed away on Saturday July 10th, 2004. Bud had been fighting a lung disease for several years. Bud starting racing midgets in the fifties. He drove my second vintage car for several years until I sold it so I could retire. Bud first started with the BCRA vintage as our pit steward and soon after I bought my second car I asked Bud if he would like to drive for me and I only had to ask him once. We made several trips to Idaho and to Oregon with Golden Wheels and Bud always came along for the fun and to help Rosemarie and me. Bud always enjoyed talking with the race fans after the races. Rosemarie and I will miss his smile and his way with words. I have several good memories and some funny stories about Bud and our many race dates together. I plan to acknowledge him with a donation to The Bill Vukovich III Memorial Scholarship Fund. The address for this memorial is; Bill Vukovich Scholarship Fund C/O Yosemite High School, 50206 Rd. 427, Oakhurst, California 93644. Send it to the attention of Barry Bartlett. Each year a deserving student from Yosemite High School receives a $1,000 scholarship from Joyce Vukovich, Billy III s mother. In return you will receive a nice thank you letter from her and the Vukovich family.
Bud's daughter's address is Margaret Sharp, 59 Latiat Loop, Orville, Ca. 95966.Send her a card too.

I hope to have happier news next month

Pete
