The new car + driver weight rule will not go into effect until August 1, 2007. DMS Race Products is 2007 Midget Series Sponsor
By Rick Faeth

Greetings to all fellow midget competitors, hopefully you have all had an enjoyable off season and are preparing for the quickly approaching opener. The Board of Directors is proud to announce that the BCRA midget division will have series sponsorship in 2007 provided by DMS Race Products of Pittsburg, CA. As many of you already know DMS is owned and operated by Marc & Delaina DeBeaumont. Marc was the 1995 BCRA midget champion and won the 1999 USAC Western States Midget Title. After a very successful career behind the wheel Marc has made the transition to driver development, car ownership and racing parts supplier.
The series sponsorship program is divided into two packages. The first package awards contingency certificates redeemable for products purchased at DMS. The certificates will be distributed via a lottery system. There will be a total of four scheduled lotteries, each awarding $625. From each $625 lottery there will be a $200, $150, $125, $100 and a $50 winner. A proposed schedule for the lotteries would be after the fourth, eighth, twelfth, and after the final race of the year. Eligibility for the lotteries is by race attendance. Example: If the first lottery is held after the fourth race and an owner has competed in three races thus far he will have three balls in the lottery.
The second package is designed to augment the championship point fund. DMS has pledged to remunerate to BCRA a portion of its 2007 calendar year retail revenue generated from registered BCRA midget customer’s sales. The bulk of this revenue will go directly to the top ten driver and owner point funds however; there will be at least two wild card winners outside the top ten. This will be done by a blind draw for competitors finishing in positions 11th through 20th.
Having had the opportunity to negotiate this deal with Marc over the past two months has allowed me some insight into Marc’s business. DMS which was formerly Stealth Motorsports West has expanded and represents and distributes several manufacturers’ chassis’ and associated parts for all types of open wheel race cars including Beast and Spike. DMS has a well-stocked inventory and a customer welcome store front to go along with a professionally maintained shop.
DMS Race Products is located at 981 Garcia Ave., Pittsburg, CA. 94565, ph# (925) 252-9378. I would encourage any BCRA member if they have questions regarding the series sponsorship to contact me. See you at Hanford.
