JEFF GRIFFIN CAPTURES FIRST BCRA MIDGT LITE CHAMPIONSHIP
Brent Sexton wins feature in Sunco/Henchcraft Best of the
West
FERNLEY, NV., SEPT. 30: With fall fast approaching twenty seven of
the west coast's best Mini sprints towed to Fernley Nevada to battle for the
$1000.00 to win second leg of the Sunoco Racing Fuels/ Henchcraft Racing
Products Best of the West Mini sprint Series held at the Reno-Fernley
Raceway.
The underlying but very important story of the night was thast the Western
States Mini Sprint Nationals ended up being the final point race for the
host Bay Cities Racing Association Midget Lite division, with the top three
contenders for the championship, Scott Kinney, Jeff Griffin and Matt
Sherman; all separated by only eight points. They would have to fight for
the championship among some of the west coast's best racers!

GRIFFIN COMPLETES FAMILY SWEEP AT PETALUMA
AUGUST 19: Jeff Griffin from St. Helena won the Bay Cities
Racing Association Midget Lite 20 lap main event at Petaluma Speedway
Saturday night driving his Stadelhofer Construction/Abreu Vineyards
sponsored Henchcraft/Honda. Team Griffin Racing swept all three of the BCRA
Midget Lite appearances this season at the well prepared Jim Soares promoted
Petaluma Speedway. Jeff won the first visit of the season on May 20, his
brother Greg on July 29th and Jeff again in the final race of the Budweiser
sponsored three race series.

CORSO CRUSHES BCRA LITE FIELD
AUGUST 12: Sam Corso who crushes concrete for a living crushed
the sixteen car Bay Cities Racing Association Midget Lite field in the 20
lap main event driving his California Rock Crushers sponsored Stealth/Honda.
Seventh starting Corso quickly moved his way to the front to take his second
main event win of the season. Last weeks winner Chris Glass finished a
strong second with young gun Richard Bailey third.

event winning his heat race and dominating the main event.

KINNEY BEATS THE HEAT IN TULARE
Tulare Ca. July 22. The Bay Cities Racing Association Midget Lites made
their first ever appearance at Tulare’s Thunder Bowl Speedway Saturday
night. Appearing at Steve Faria’s immaculate state of the art race facility,
as a support program to the Golden State sprint car series; 17 midget Lites
braved over 110 degree heat to help complete an awesome night of open wheel
racing. Scott Kinney Driving the Lonnie Lopez owned Suzuki powered Bailey
took home the laurels in the quickly run Lite main event.

JEFF GRIFFIN SCORES TWIN CITIES LITE FEATURE
JUNE 10: On a cool spring evening, fifteen highly tuned and
fast midget lites returned to the Twin Cities Speedway bull ring for their
second visit of the year.
The first heat was a car short as hard-working BCRA director
Rick Holbrook scratched from a front row starting position due to a leaking fuel
fitting on his Kawasaki ZX 12. As a result, Jesse Harmon jumped to a quick lead
over Brian Corso and Scott Kinney. Scott "the Bandit" Kinney quickly moved past
Corso and then several laps later,
took the lead over Harmon, and then continued on to a convincing win over Harmon
and 6th starter Matt Sherman and Greg Griffin.

CORSO GRABS THE MONEY IN RENO!
JUNE 3: Not wanting to be outdone by his Brother in-law Chris
DeReuyter, Sam Corso led every lap of the twenty-lap main event Saturday
night at the lightning fast Reno/Fernley Raceway.
Fourteen Midget Lites made the tow over the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain
range from California adding to the three local Reno racers to provide Reno
race fans with a very exciting fast paced twenty lap main event. With speeds
near the one hundred mile an hour mark and two short yellow flags for minor
spins the Bay Cities Racing Association Midget Lites treated the
Reno/Fernley race fans to a high speed shoot out.

GRIFFIN STARTING TO FORM A HABIT
May 20: Jeff Griffin Driving his own Honda powered Henchcraft was
not to be outdone by younger brother Greg, (last weeks winner in Chico)
jumping into the lead before the first turn Jeff Griffin led all twenty laps
Saturday night to take his first Bay cities Racing Association Midget Lite
main event win of the young 2006 season.

Greg Griffin wins thriller at Chico!
MAY 13.....Greg Griffin driving his own Honda powered Henchcraft won
Saturday night's BCRA Midget Lite portion of the Dave Bradway memorial at
Chico's Silver Dollar Speedway.
The night started off with a Bradway Memorial record breaking 52 sprint cars
timing in, this after Friday night's 47 car program combined with
temperatures in the mid 90's produced a racing surface that went from wet
and slick to hard, dry and smooth with multiple racing lanes that quickly
took rubber. Twenty Midget Lites were on hand to help entertain a large
crowd of sprint car fans with two quick heat races and an exciting non stop
green to checkered main event.

MAY 6: Chris DeRuyter stepped into the Sam Corso Honda Blackbird
powered Stealth midget lite as a one-time substitute, then went on to score

HUNTING SET TO DEFEND MIDGET LITE TITLE
Doug Hunting will get 23 attempts to defend his championship in the
Bay Cities Racing Association midget lite division when racing begins this
weekend. The Elk Grove driver will again drive his father Ted's Yamaha R1
powered ART midget lite on the BCRA circuit that kicks off at the Antioch
Speedway Saturday night (March 25).
