Still a few "i's" to dot and "T's" to cross, but the '05 season scheduling is nearly complete.
The midgets and midget lites will return to the Antioch Speedway. For the midgets it will be the first time since the 2000 season. The lites had been regular on John Sores Jr's quarter-mile dirt until last season. They return this season for two shows on June 18 and August 6. The midget make one appearance on July 9.
Former BCRA president Bob Roza has accepted a Board of Directors position, replacing George Chandler who resigned. Ralph Cortez was voted in as president at the last board meeting.
We were shocked to hear of the death of midget owner-driver Jim Booth. Jim was shot when he responded to noise outside of his Hayward home. Apparently he was the unintened victum.

BCRA champion Thomas Meseraull qualified fifth on the Phoenix mile in the Bill Ferrari Beast. He DNF'd in 28th.
BCRA was well represented at the San Francisco Rod, Custom & Motorcycle Show at the Cow Palace in early January. Bob Rosen showed his "Turkey Night" fast-qulifying "Mr. Espresso Coffe" Beast/Fontana midget. Drew Barney has his midget lite on display. Two beautiful vintage midgets drew a lot of attention. Paul Ferreira has his '36 Ford V8-60 alongside of Paul Farajan's '50 Ford V8-60 Kurtis.
The BCRA midgets make their first appearance on the Altamont Raceway & Arena's half-mile paved oval in quite some years. The race takes place on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5. It will be part of a big venue that includes the SRL supers and CASA sprints.
Bob Roza represented BCRA at the Midget Forum, held this year in
Tulsa, OK, during the Chili Bowl. The forum includes
representative from most every midget racing organization in the U.S.
The BCRA's vintage division had scheduled to only run at events with the midgets and/or midget lites. They has since accepted an invitation to participate in the 50th anniversary celebration of the Roseville Speedway on July 16.
