Placerville Midget Lite race canceled season finale moved to Merced Nov. 21st

Nov 12, 2020…The Bay Cities Racing Association Midget Lite races scheduled for November 19-21 at Placerville Speedway have been canceled due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. The Midget lite teams were excited to be invited to be part of the “Hangtown 100” three day event but understand the decisions leading to the cancelation. Event promoters Matt Wood, Scott Russell and Kami Arnold were forced to cancel when El Dorado County moved into an elevated level of concern of the covid-19 virus spread that changed who can participate and attend the event earlier this week.
Elk Grove Ford President Matt Wood comments about the situation, “The 2020 season has been rough on the racing community and we know this only makes a bad situation worse. We are sorry to make this announcement but please believe we exhausted all possibilities and felt it was necessary to get the word out as quickly as we could. We will be back in 2021 bigger and better than ever.” have been posted to the official “Hangtown 100” website at
This decision led to the final race of the 2020 BCRA Midget Lite season scheduled for Wednesday, November 25th at Merced Speedway to be cancelled and moved to Saturday, November 21st at the Merced County Fairgrounds.
