On September 26th the mighty midgets of the Bay Cities Racing Association (BCRA) return to action at Antioch Speedway for a full program together with our guest organization Western Midget Racing (WMR).
The midgets will share the evening’s program with the Super Stocks, Pro Stocks, Wingless Sprint Cars, and Hard Tops for the 18th annual Chet Thompson Tribute Night which honors the 1962 Vallejo Speedway Hardtop champion. After Chet passed away following his battle from cancer, the Chet Thompson Memorial races ran at Vallejo Speedway from 1967 to 1979 then resumed at Antioch Speedway in 2016.
Antioch Speedway located on the grounds of the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds has proven to be a very racy banked 3/8-mile track well suited for midgets as prepared by Chad Chadwick’s PROmotions team.
Antioch Speedway limits each team in the pit area to six crew members per car – the driver and five crew members. The track also has a strict face covering standard imposed by Contra Costa County. Face coverings are mandatory any time a team member is outside of their assigned pit area. Antioch Speedway’s security patrol is on hand in the pit area to monitor and enforce this County requirement. As racers, we must abide by these rules so that the track can continue to operate.
This is not a co-sanctioned event with the United States Auto Club. As a club, it is important that BCRA have a strong car turnout to help strengthen BCRA’s relationship with Antioch promoter Chad Chadwick for scheduling more races at Antioch in 2021. For teams planning to attend, please send details such as the driver and car owner names and brief biographies, as well as car, engine and sponsor information to firstname.lastname@example.org in advance so that we can provide an accurate list to track announcer Wylie Wade on race day. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and we look forward to seeing you September 26th at Antioch.
