Jack London Bash preview

Fans and members of the Bay Cities Racing Association (BCRA) are looking forward to Saturday July 21st. the date for this year’s Jack London Bash picnic and Hall of Fame induction at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Petaluma California.  The annual event will feature at BBQ Tri Tip and chicken lunch prepared by Lombardi’s Gourmet Deli and BBQ served at noon followed by induction ceremonies at 1:30 PM.

This year’s inductees into the BCRA Hall of Fame include drivers Don Meaham and Chuck Stevenson, midget and midget lite owner and driver Rick Holbrook, midget lite series official Peggy Holbrook, and BCRA vintage car owner and driver John Mosekian.  In addition to honoring the this year’s and previous years inductees and their families, there will a giant raffle of exciting prizes during the ceremony.

Later that evening following the Jack London Bash, the BCRA mighty midgets will be joined by the competitors of the United States Auto Club (USAC) Western States Light up the World Beverage midgets for a big combined midget racing program on the Petaluma Speedway 3/8-mile dirt oval.  2017 BCRA champion Maria Cofer will defend the BCRA’s honor against the USAC series regulars and looks to score her third season dirt track victory behind the wheel of her father John’s powerful Esslinger powered #57 midget.

Cofer will be challenged by BCRA rookie challengers Jackson Dukes in the Shenanigans sponsored entry and Jesse Love in the 51Fifty Van Dyne midget.  Also expected on hand to vie for the Jack London crown are multi-time BCRA feature winners Alex Schutte, David Prickett, and Michael Faccinto. In addition to the BCRA midgets at Petaluma on July21st the winged 360 cubic inch sprint cars, 600’s and mini stocks will be in action in a grogram set to start at 6 PM.
