Well, hi all we had a hot time in Ukiah on the 4th of July, what a fun day it was with a great fireworks show right in front of us, thought we were in a war zone, fans really loved. It all started out around 10am when the BCRA regular’s racers and the vintage guys started showing up after everything settled down it was track time each group got plenty of hot laps and track time the weather was really hot with a nice breeze that help cool things down. Norm Rapp showed up to sell fuel, tires and it was so hot the gang got and put up a quick- up with a matching chair to keep him cool, it was a real nice thing to do for Norm.
We the vintage group ran along with the vintage hardtops, Saturday Night Regulars and of course the Regular Midgets for the opening ceremony all the cars were push to the starting line for fan appreciation and to come down from the stands to look at the cars it was a big crowd and it took a little while for the ceremony but it was fun. The regular Midget race was wild with Davey Hamilton Jr. finishing first. Then of course after the midget main was a fireworks display in which everyone enjoyed, we’ll be coming back to Ukiah in September 26th and we’ll be looking forward to that.
BCRA Vintage had 6 Midgets on hand; #16 Tommy Belfiore & Sammy Belfiore, Edmunds Chevy II, #36 Larry, Connie, Mike & Granddaughter Booth, Kurtis Chevy II, #1 Paul & June Ferreira, Kane Chevy II, #5 John Demartini, Joe Demartini, Son-In-Law and Daughter, who is expecting, congrats John, Kurtis V8-60, #26 Don Strauch & Vic Strauch Chevy II, static display & #8 Richard Walsh Marmon-4, static display.
