Summer Horse Power Nationals TV Show
Northern Modified Tour, Round #3 of The Pacific Region King of the Wing Sprint Series, BCRA Midgets, NCMA Sprints, USAC HPD Midgets, Vintage Super Modifieds
Hi, all we’re off and running again to Madera for another fun filled day of excitable racing. If you weren’t there you would never believe the amount of cars that showed up for this one, I mean there must have been over a 100 cars in the pits. Madera has a big pit area and it was pack with cars, for the first time we the Vintage guys had to park in a different area. So naturally we had a few of the old guys get lost in the pits. After finding their way back to there designate area things settled down and they were on their way to put on a great show.
Track time was a little short for us because of the high car count and also the event was televises by MAV TV. It was a long day, but it was fun. The regular Midgets put on another outstanding show with Chad Nichols nailing it from the rear.
The Vintage count was 12 cars on hand, BCRA Vintage Midget entries; #04 Harold, Nancy, Ruby Allen & family Kurtis V8-60, #16 Tommy Belfiore & Sammy Belfiore Edmunds Chevy II, #63 Larry Booth & Mike Booth Kurtis Chevy II, #14 Paul Farajian Kurtis V8-60, #1 Paul & June Ferreira Kane Chevy II, #33 Larry King Kurtis Vukovich V8-60 (static display), #3 Long Hauler AZ Michael Luddon Kurtis Chevy II, #14 Long Hauler LA Bob Mastroleo (WRA PREZ) & Rich Mastroleo (WRA) Kurtis Offy, #17 Doug Shanoian & Jamie Hood Benson Offy, #2 PJ Shanoian & Friends Edmunds Chevy II, #8 Richard Walsh Marmon-4 (static display) #1 Long Hauler NV Greg Vorman & Friends Kurtis Offy Roadster.
On a sad note Bill Browning past he was a member of Golden Wheels & BCRA, he has #87 Kurtis Offy, his wife Rusty was the first one to do our Vintage Calendars they lived in OR and recently move to Victorville, Don Scott’s wife Karen past in February, Don had the #87 Kurtis Chevy II they live in Carson City.
Thank you Kenny Shepherd and Officials for a great smooth outstanding event and allowing us to be part of it. Our next Pit stop for Vintage will be Ukiah. For The Fourth of July Fireworks Show, don’t miss this one.
