The midgets of the Bay Cities Racing Association will celebrate their 75th Anniversary with their first appearance of the year on the paved Madera Speedway Saturday night (March 29).
Taking part in the Smokey Hanoian Classic, the BCRA contingent will feature some of the West Coast’s top midget cars and drivers.
Veteran nine-time BCRA driving champion Floyd Alvis of San Carlos is set to defend in title against the younger generation that includes Kevin Morris, Mark Maliepaard both of Ripon, Nick Chivello of Manteca, Frankie Guerrini of San Rafael, and the Snider brothers, Darin and Michael. Among the seasoned pros will be Lodi’s Scott Pierovich, Chad Nichols of Colma and Dr. David Goodwill of Napa. Tanner Swanson of Kingsburg, is set to drive the Bob Rosen BCRA entry from Oakland.
Also on the midget agenda will be competitors from Western States USAC entries.
BCRA’s popular Vintage Division of classic midgets will also be part of the multi-faceted program that includes winged sprint cars vs super modifieds, spec sprints and vintage winged super modifieds.
